With city Botany the gallery “am Bahndamm” dedicated to a theme from the city Giessen. As part of the “Landesgartenschau” (horticultural show) the gallery presented different artistic positions to the theme “city & nature”. It showed that there was more room for interpretation than it was thought at first. So it doesn’t only grow in parks, green areas and wild between pavers but also created by humans typical urban Botany is spreading in the city. Machines, posters and graffitis shape for decades our cityscape and also our understanding of living in the city.
